1. Raw Peanut Butter Cookie Bites (Copycat LaraBar) – Clean Eating Recipes
Now you don’t have to pay twice as much money and buy LaraBars anymore. You can make your own in just a few minutes. Homemade LaraBars are a lot more healthy besides being less expensive and they don’t have that chemical taste the outside of LaraBars do. Seriously, I think the outside of them taste like some kind of chemicals. Think about it, how can they keep that long without a preservative in them. Actually, I have bought some that when I opened them, they were moldy. These are so easy, throw peanuts, dates, and salt in a blender or food processors, roll them in balls and they’re ready to eat. I think they taste a whole lot better too.
2. How to Make Healthy Homemade Easy Hummus Without Tahini – Gluten Free Daddy
I love hummus and I could go on and on about how healthy it is and how easy it is to make, but I won’t. I do know some people including my kids that don’t like the tahini in hummus. So, I came up with this delicious homemade version of hummus with optional ingredients to replace the hummus. It takes 5 minutes to make it unless you pop the skins off, that takes a few minutes longer. I don’t pop the skins off because my blender is so powerful it just chops them right up into a nice smooth mixture.
3. Curried, Baked Zucchini Chips – My Natural Family
My children love these and they don’t even care that they are eating something healthy. I like to make 2-3 pans of them and save them for later. They can be eaten just like potato chips if you want to. These zucchini chips are a great snack but they can also be a great side dish vegetable for dinner. Just don’t cook them until they’re crispy. I cook mine for about half an hour for a side dish. Sometimes I like them without all the spices so I just leave out the curry powder and garlic powder. I also think they are best when I use Course Real Salt.
4. Homemade Granola Bars – Gluten Free Daddy
For a long time I never even thought about making my own granola bars. I guess I just thought you had to buy them. Then I learned about all of the preservatives are in granola bars that come in a box. Read the ingredients on the back of the box. There are a lot of things on there you’re eating and you probably don’t even know what they are. I decided to do some research and see if I could make my own. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be and WOW, they taste a lot better too.
5. Easy, Pumpkin Protein Bars – Gluten Free Daddy
These are the best protein bars I’ve ever tried. The white chocolate (you can use dark chocolate if you want) drizzled on the top is the perfect touch. I make a batch quite often. I put them in bags and keep them in the refrigerator. My husband takes them to work for snacks and I like them for a quick snack. My daughter loves them too. Who doesn’t love a healthy treat? You can freeze them too so you can make a big batch and not have to make them as often. I like to make individual bags for the freezer with just a couple in each bag. If you think you don’t like pumpkin, you should try these, you might change your mind. If you really don’t like pumpkin you can substitute ripe mashed bananas for the pumpkin.
6. Peanut Butter Homemade Protein Bars Post Workout Snack – Clean Eating Recipes
These peanut butter bars are even faster to make than the LaraBars because you don’t have to shape them into balls. My kids do that for me. With these, you just blend them up and then press them in a pan and cut them and they’re ready to eat. You could literally make them in 10 minutes. They are great for post work out snack or any time when you need a little pick me up. They’re really good with a green smoothie.
7. Cinnamon Roasted Paleo Almonds – My Natural Family
Remember that cinnamon sugar you used to make when you were a kid and put it on buttered toast? Well, just imagine cinnamon sugar all melted and roasted on some nice fresh almonds. Especially when they are still warm. Oh, I can smell them just thinking about it. Do you ever buy cinnamon roasted almonds in the mall when you go shopping?
8. Homemade Fruit Roll-Ups – What She Ate
Banana – Mango or Strawberries – Kiwi
My grandma used to make these all the time. I love how they are so healthy. They are just fruit that is dried. Grandma used to make hers with apples blended in the blender. She added jello powder to the apples which flavors it and adds color. Grandma dried hers in a dehydrator instead of the oven. It works either way just fine. As a kid I loved it.
9. Crispy BBQ Roasted Chickpeas – She Likes Food
These roasted chickpeas are a really good snack. I especially like to eat them while I’m watching a movie. I love them because they are salty, crispy and really filling. They are healthy because they are packed with fiber and protein. They are a lot more healthy than a bag of potato chips or a package of Twinkies.
